A Lasting Impression
November 07, 2011 by nosajdabeno
Long time listener, first time poster. A little bit about myself. I'm 32, male, born with Spina Bifida. I'm in a wheelchair because of my birth defect. So getting out to shows isn't all that appealing to me when it comes right down to it. That being said, I was lucky enough to see Sammy twice. Once on the Sam & Dave tour (Sammy stole the show hands down), and the other was on the VH reunion tour. For both shows I was lucky enough to have front row. Who says being handicapped doesn't have its advantages? Both shows Sammy put on a hell of a show. He had so much energy, and such a great all around great attitude that he made what is normally a chaotic environment (concerts for me) into a great memory. During the show with VH, I was lucky enough to get Sammy to sign my ticket stub and shake his hand as well. I wish I could thank him personally for all the years of great music, and for making me feel "important" in those few moments he gave me with the autograph, and the hand shake. But, I suppose a post on his webpage will have to do for now. Thank you Sammy!
