Taj Mahal and Mount Tam Jam

Taj Mahal and Mount Tam Jam

Back around 1971 or so I saw Taj Mahal play in San Francisco with Bro when we were in Justice Brothers and he knocked me out.  We had a chance to hang out a little he was a superstar to me since he had actually put out a couple albums already! This past weekend, over 40 years later we reconnected at the Mount Tam Jam festival and it was so cool that he remembered that time.  He just killed it in his set and talked about seeing each other again soon - maybe Cabo, or just next time he's in town.

What a day out at my local Sonoma Raceway - doing a little video shoot for the new solo album (more on that later) and getting to hang out with my driver buddies - outta sight!

Red Head for Redheads!
Red Head for Redheads!

Red Head for Redheads! That's right, I named the new Sammy's Beach Bar Rum Red Head after the greatest fans in the world. This new version of the best rum ever made has the flavor of Macadamia nuts soaked in the white rum and is colored RED!

I've flown the first bottling in just for my Redheads attending the Vegas Tiki Party  tomorrow! The special "Mai Tai Red Head" drinks are gonna be outasight! To everyone who can't be here, don't worry- be patient and it will be in your local state in the near future.

Back To My Hometown

Nothing is as gratifying as being honored in your home town. For me it's right up there with the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. Having a street named after ya (Hagar Way)-- come on!!! Fontana has changed so much since 1970 when I left. If you would have blindfolded me, brought me there and showed me around I would not have known where I was. For real. 14k population then and 200k today--  damn!
